Leandro is R&D Manager at BRUGAROLAS since 1998. He has more than 36 years of experience in the grease industry, he started working at BRUGAROLAS in 1985 after graduating as Technical Engineering at Barcelona’s University. He was working at BRUGAROLAS as researcher in grease development between 1985 and 1998, when he became the R&D Manager of the company. He joined ELGI board in Porto AGM in 1993 and he has been serving the Institute as Vice-chairman since then.

Mehdi Fathi-Najafi earned a MSc in Chemical Engineering and a Licentiate degree in Chemical Engineering Design from Chalmers University of Technology of Gothenburg in Sweden.

Mehdi has more than 25 years of experience in the global base oil and grease industry and is the recipient of Clarence E. Earle Memorial Award.  He has also received several Best Paper Awards within the field of lubricating grease.

He has two patents and numerous articles published in a dozen publications covering a variety of specialist areas, including Filtration, Base oils, Lubricating Greases, Applied Rheology and Tribology.

Mehdi joined the Department of Technical and Market Support at Nynas in 2008. His current function at Nynas is Chief Specialist, supporting the Lubes & Grease Industry.

Sven Meinhardt is the Global Technology Advisor for ExxonMobil Chemical’s Synthetics business. As a Phd Chemist, he has worked with the chemical and lubricants industry in different areas for more than 24 years.

A native of Essen, Germany, he studied Chemistry at the University of Dortmund with a focus on Organic Chemistry before joining Mobil Schmierstoff GmbH in Hamburg as Sales Representative for industrial lubricants in 1998. Following the Exxon-Mobil merger he was hired by ExxonMobil Chemical in 2003 and worked in various commercial functions before joining the Synthetics Business Unit as Business Development Manager in 2010. Since 2016 Sven has been working in the Performance Liquids Technology department.  In his current assignment he builds on his extensive technical knowledge in lubricant applications and advises customers on the use of synthetic basestocks for the development of next-generation lubricants that can meet the continuously increasing performance requirements.

Mikael is the product manager for industrial greases at Axel Christiernsson. He has more than 26 years of experience from the grease industry and started working at AXEL in 1995 after studying chemical engineering at Chalmers University of Technology. As a chemical analyst he was involved in failure analysis, QC control and extended product testing before moving on to become a grease development engineer between 1997 – 2013. Mikael has worked in his current position since 2013 and is nowadays occupied with maintaining and developing the range of industrial greases, technical support and lubrication education.

Gareth obtained his BSc in Chemistry and PhD in Tribology from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London. Currently Technical Fellow at the Lubrizol Corporation, Wickliffe, Ohio, USA, with more than 34 years of grease industry experience. Author of 80 technical papers and 80 teaching classes on Tribology and lubricating greases and winner of 15 industry awards.

Olav Höger started 1982 in Shell and graduated as Engineer Chemical Engineering in 1990. Since then he has worked for Shell in various position as laboratory manager and Project Engineer at their Technology Centre in Hamburg and as Technical Service Manager for Lubricating Greases.

At present he is project Engineer for Aviation greases.

He has accumulated more than 40 years' experience in Lubricants and Grease Development and Technical service activities around Lubricants products.

Pierre Belot is TotalEnergies Lubrifiants Key Account Manager for the bearing manufacturers and Lubricating Grease Specialist since 2017.

He graduated in 1990 from the Polytechnics School in Mons, Belgium, as a chemical engineer completed with a License in Businees Administration at the Henley College of Management (UK). He started his career in 1991 in the patent department of the Belgian glass producer Glaverbel (Asahi Glass) collaborating in patent infringement lawsuits.

He joined Fina Research in 1995 as Lubricating Grease development engineer and took over the TotalFinaElf Development team in 2001. In 2004 he joined the newly created Grease Department at TOTAL Headquarters as Product engineer for Automotive industry and Key Account Manager for the bearing manufacturers. 

In 2008 he was appointed Products Technical Manager at Imperator, Total grease plant in France in charge of the laboratory and product development.  In 2023 I will have served 28 years in the lubricating grease industry.
